Owing to its geographical position, it is visited by an average of 20 tropical cyclones annually, and being in the Pacific Ring of Fire, it is subject to earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. Extreme weather patterns due to climate change also exacerbate its condition.<br /> <br /> That is the reason why the Philippines is fully committed in the continuance of raising awareness on disaster displacement. This was stated during the first meeting of the Platform on Disaster Displacement (PDD), a state-led platform that works toward better protection for people made homeless by calamity.
